October 2009: Getting Your Kids Through the Flu
With cold and flu season just around the corner, this workshop is the perfect way to help parents prepare. We will discuss fun ways to reinforce prevention methods with our children, as well as provide tips and activity ideas for passing those long days when they do get sick.
An inspiring workshop created to help parents cultivate a sense of gratitude within their families. In these times of “not enough” and wanting more, we show parents how they can help their children see the abundance in their lives though simple family activities and discussions.
December 2009: Holiday Memories: Creating Traditions For Your Family
Family traditions during the holiday season help to create lasting and fond memories of childhood. This session helps parents reflect on the way their family celebrates the holiday season, offers ideas for new traditions and suggests some simple techniques for preserving the memories that we create during this special time of year.
Using the New Year for inspiration, this workshop gives parents a foundation on which to build their Family Mission Statement. Every family has a personality, and a set of beliefs and values. The act of articulating these values and committing them to paper can be very powerful. Family Mission Statements engage the entire family in identifying what they consider important, and provide a road map for how to live and interact with the community.
Valentine’s Day provides parents with a valuable “teaching moment” for cultivating self-esteem in their children. This workshop gives parents a new way of looking at the topic, and will provide tips, and tools for how we can keep our children’s self-esteem in healthy shape.
Out the door, off to your day, home again, dinner and then to bed: Where does the time go? When the day is over, parents often feel like they did not have time to connect with their family. This is common in our fast paced world. This workshop helps parents develop a plan for how to connect despite the chaos.
